A new design to the already very good looking Manoi has now been announced on Kyosho's web site. Servos are made by Kondo.

Here's a post with a video showing what MANOI AT01 (without the body shells at this point) can do:

It was taken last Sunday at the robot carnival here.

The PF01 body shells (the original 'Black & White design by Takahashi-san) are injection molded plastic and would be difficult to modify or customize. They also make the PF01 considerably heavier.

The AT01 body shells (the new configuration pictured above) are polycarbonate with special mounts that attach to the robot's frame. They are much lighter, and were designed to be customized in the same way that R/C car and model fans do with their 'toys.'

Also, since the AT01 body shell mounts are standardized, it won't belong before owners start vacuum forming their own shells.

The "stock" versions of both the AT01 and PF01 have 17 DOF.
