Hi all

As we had announced we are hard at work to move RoboSavvy to a new server with improved capacity in order to offer a better end user experience to all our customers.

We had scheduled and announced this move for Jan 25th. However to ensure a smooth transition and minimum downtime we feel it is best to postpone the move.

This means RoboSavvy will be up and fully functional this week and no downtime will occur.(contrary to what we had announced).

We appologise for this change in plans and hope you understand.
Once again, this announcement means RoboSavvy will not experience any downtime this week and will continue to be up and fully functional as usual.

UPDATE on April 14th 2010

Hi

We're finally set to move RoboSavvy to a new server.

The date planned is April 19th and expected downtime should start around 11am GMT and extend through the end of the work day (it will vary depending on DNS propagation).

The biggest issue is that we'll be changing our IP address. Some people may see the site coming live before others as the DNS change propagates.

We will keep this thread updated with news.

Should you encounter any difficulty with any of the website functionalities after the move please proceed as follows:

1) Clear your browser cache and cookies and try one more time.

2) Contact us and let us know about any issue as soon as you encounter it:
.. via email to sales@robosavvy.com (or sales.robosavvy@gmail.com should the first one not work)

.. by telephone +44 (0) 207 207 193 4351

RoboSavvy is a very diverse and large system with a lot of legacy code and data. We've been working hard at work testing the new server so that everything goes smoothly. Please let us know should you encounter any issue.

Thank you and Regards
Pedro

Hi all

18 Apr, 5:45pm: Update to our Server Move:

We are on track and on time to proceed with the move. :)

We've done a Dry Run/Test today and everything has gone according to plan.

Therefore, as announced, the RoboSavvy server will be down tomorrow from 11am GMT through the end of the day.

During this period all RoboSavvy features will be Unavailable (Store, Forum, etc.).

The website is expected to come live on the new server, before the end of the day but the exact time will depend on how fast the DNS change propagates (because we'll be changing our IP address).

If you are unable to access RoboSavvy after the planed downtime period expires, we recommend you clear your DNS cache as well as your browser and cookies cache.

In addition, please Contact us:
.. via email to sales@robosavvy.com (or sales.robosavvy@gmail.com should the first one not work)

.. by telephone +44 (0) 207 193 4351

and report any issue you may encounter with the website as a result of this move.

Thank you and Regards
Pedro

UPDATE April 19th 3:20pm

It seems Gmail has not yet acknowledged our IP address change.

Therefore some of the messages sent from RoboSavvy are being categorized as SPAM by Gmail and a warning saying "This message was likely forged and did not originate from your account" may appear when using Gmail.

We believe this is caused by DNS propagation delays. This may be affecting other email providers/services in addition to Gmail.

Therefore, if you're expecting emails from us (made a purchase or inquiry) and you haven't gotten a response, please check your SPAM folder for messages from RoboSavvy.

Regards
Pedro.

UPDATE: April 20th 12:40am

It seems the email/spam issue mentioned earlier is now fixed. Mail originating from RoboSavvy seems to be propperly entering our Inbox now.

We have, however, uncovered an issue with Paypal Express checkout in our store. It seems that under certain conditions Express Checkout with Paypal is not working as expected.
If you experience issues paying with Paypal Express Checkout on our store, we kindly ask you to use one of the many alternative payment methods that we offer such as Credit Card, Google Checkout, CCnow or Pay over the Phone.

We expect to have this one fixed tomorrow.

Apart from that we're very pleased about how the migration has gone. Downtime was minimal (about 1.5hrs) with DNS changes propagating quite fast.

Also no major issues were encountered. Our best metric (forum posting/activity) has been up to the average rate today which we interpret as a sign that everything is working properly :)

As always, should you encounter any problem with a specific website functionality, please let us know either by email (sales@robosavvy.com) or by phone.

Regards
Pedro

UPDATE: April 20th, 5:40pm

We have now updated our Paypal module. We believe the issues are now solved but should you encounter any issue checking out with Paypal then please let us know.

We're also working on adding 3D secure support to our main Credit Card Payment system.
So far, if you have a card that required 3DS validation, you need to checkout using Moneybookers or GoogleCheckout.

We've also updated our visits counter to proudly display the number of visitors we've had since we're online.

We're considering the migration complete as we believe we have the feature set complete.

RoboSavvy is an ongoing work of improvement and the new server offers new and exciting possibilities for improvement.

As usual, let us know if you find anything that's not working as expected :)

Regards
Pedro.
