New Chat System

Hi all

We're happy to announce we have a new Chat system online (just click the "Join Chat" on the "Who's Online" box on the left column).

This chat system is AJAX based but has a lot of (vintage) features from the old IRC systems.

When you're on the website you're not automatically on the chat but if you'd like to chat or be available to chat, just click to open the Chat window and others will be able to see you and chat with you.

There is also a "Room" for each forum thread as well as a Public one (the default).

Feel free to explore the various features and commands as it's quite flexible.

I've uncovered a really annoying bug with the chat system.

It works nicelly if you're logged in and browsing the forum.

However, if you're not logged in, you may encounter a Login page when you try to open the Chat window and Login page keeps coming back over and over again.

To work around the issue, you need to go through these steps:

1- Login to the RoboSavvy main site (using the Login box on the left column)

2- Go to the forum to get a Cookie from the forum ; just open the forum page: http://robosavvy.com/forum

- Finally Open the chat window and you're set.
The window should open and work correctly.

This issue is caused by the famous Joomla<->phpBB integration on RoboSavvy (which has some other known, and old side effects).

We'll try to get this fixed asap.
For now, you can find above the steps to get you properly logged in.
