How is unloading and loading the same services fix the Vista problem?

Has anyone got the above bat file to work? Would it not be easier to run the complier in the Windows XP compatiblility mode?

Yse it works fine. just run the file and hit the Return key about 4-5 times, you may need to reboot. if you still cant get it to work email me.

I am just trying to understand what the script is doing? It is only unloading and then loading the same windows active X and VB services/controls. It is even doing it twice for MSCOMCTL.ocx. It is changing the windows registry which is something you should be careful about doing!

The fix seems to work fine for me. If you got a better fix other than loading XP then post it. i've not found anything else that seems to work.

No I am not knock it, I am asking question, which is what a forum is all about. I was hoping that Dimlow could explain the workings of his script. I may be paranoid but before I run a script that changes my registry. I would like to know what it is doing.

Hi ya, boys and girls!

Just thought id try to explain it for you!

When i tried to run the software on vista it just kept popping up unregistered ocx files, and each time it popped up the message i fixed it with regsvr32, but the fix would not take if i did not unregister the file first,im guessing the installer does not work in vista and incorrectly registers the files, that's why the script does what it does. MSCOMCTL.ocx is just a typo, it only needs to be done once, but still if you use it how it is, it will still work. I don't directly access the registry, so there are no worries there! Sure ,i could have given you a fix.reg file but regscr32 does it just as well.

Anyway, i don't see why this would do any harm. If you don't want to use it then don't. Im not bothered!

All i know it that it works for Grampy,BigJon,Me and mabe others.

What confuses me now is why Hitec did not come out with this fix months ago? It seems easy and straight foward. I think that Dimlow saved Hitec a lot of money!

I have been through hell and back again trying to be able to use my robonova which I recieved about a week ago. I spent a full 2 days trying to dual boot my machine to have XP and Vista to no avail. To hit one brick wall after another! I built it, modded it, but was never able to use it on my Vista PC. I tried it out on my wifes XP machine and it worked fine. I just hate her computer! I wanted to be able to use it in my "big boys play room" It is set up for these kind of things. Your fix worked great ! Im obviously not good on coding but I am very good with my hands, physically modding or building things big and small. Thanks again! Another satisfied customer.
