Vision Solution

I just ordered one of these for adding digital vision to my RN.
http://www.electronics123.com/s.nl/it.A ... tegory=233
I have a WiPort Wireless LAN module on my RN so have a spare high speed serial port connection to my PC.
This gives me the ability to do some object/color recognition functions without having to use a frame grabber etc.
I may try this with my main VB control program for the image processing http://www.roborealm.com/index.php .
Anybody familiar with it?

subpilot,

Yes, I'm quite familiar with it. Should do the trick for color processing ...

The camera you specified (if I'm not mistaken) is also on the SRV-1 (Surveyor Robot) which works quite nicely. Problem is with the update speeds. RS 232 is on the borderline of being useable. At 80x60 we get about 4 fps ... which is enough for avoiding walls and following lines but it will depend on what you're up to.

STeven.

Hi STeven, I'm following the thread in the Robo Realm Forum.
http://www.roborealm.com/forum/index.php?forum_id=433
Not sure how far I am going with it but size and cost were what drove me to try it. We'll see how it works out. My WiFi link has quite a bit more bandwidth than the Zigbee link on the SRV-1 so I should get a bit better frame rate and resolution.
