I read somewhere someone was interested in seeing this guy walk... well, here ya go. These routines are mostly the ones that came pre-coded with the kit. However, the end segment is something I whipped together to try and demenstrate some martial arts-type moves. The pose and capture process indeed makes it very easy to create your own sequences in a flash.

Your last move

Hey,
I liked that last move.. have you the Robobasic code to share for that?
Know where to get all movements ever programmed for Robonova?
I've seen videos around the net that show Robonova doing things not included in the "Overall" program that came with the CD...
Any help or code would be greatly appreciated...
Thanks,
Dave

Feel free to upload any RoboNova code (press the "Manage File Uploads" in the User-Info box on the left) and post links here in the forum.

Yeah, I'll be more than happy to share some code. You'll have to give me a few days though... My plate's a little full right now.

Alright, just finished attaching a pinhole camera to hte Robonova. Here's a little entertaining clip of the results... http://robosavvy.com/Builders/bauermech/RoboCam1.wmv
I removed the head completely and replaced it with a bracket I fabbed up at work. The pinhole camera is screwed right onto it. Oh, it required a 9v supply, and lengthy play drained my first one. So I just threw a new one on and let it hang for this video.

If you think these videos are neet, you're in for a big treat. www.robots-dreams.com should be posting an article within the next few days. The clip I submitted will knock your socks off. So be sure to keep your eyes peeled for it.

funny you mentioned the screwdrivers

absolutally awsome article, i just recently finished my robonova too so it does kinda put things into perspective to compare my experiences with someone else.

i cant belive you mentioned the screwdriver thing! i went through like 15 screwdrivers, eventually also starting needlenose plyers to turn the screws until i decided to kinda forge my own screwdriver from the remains of one of the destroyed ones, still got it and it still works thankfully after i discovered certain errors i made in constrution

i really like the build quality and the software of the whole thing but i have had one or two mishaps. the first being that my kit didn't come with a charger so i have to waint for it to be sent seperatly while in the meantime im using an AC-DC adapter which seems to work for me. the other really big problem though is that one of the servo's seems bust, it seems to only move in large increments when activated causing it to throw off its balance and it wont allow me to properly set the right zero point neutral settings. so now i cant decide whether to fix it myself or send it back for repairs.

Thanks for the props spin-cycle. Yeah, he's pretty amazing huh?
About your servo problem... What happens when you try and set the offset? does it move at all... or just in large increments?
Try switching the servo lead w/ one that works properly and see if you have the same results.
Does it move it's full 180 degs w/o a bracket attached? When you apply resistance or pressure to it, does it act or sound any different than the others?
The adapter, you're using is 6v right?
Hmmm, well give this a shot, and let me know what happens.

when robonova is off the servo is able to move the full 180 degrees with no problem, i can even turn it fully with the bracket attached and when im in real time motor control positioning the motor myself. but as soon as the motor is then activated it will only jump in large increments when i set the offset and also when its running a program.

i tried switching the leads to see if it was the CPU but then new servo attached just acted normally and how it should whereas the faulty servo still acted in jumps even in its new port. so it must be the actual servo is damaged. its not the gears because its able to move smoothly when off so it has to be something else in the servo, mabye the motor itself?

the adapter im using is one where you can set the volts to what you want, so i set it to 6v, however it only outputs 500mA max instead of the 1000mA that the robonova needs so it takes a lot longer than usual to charge the battery but i dont mind so much cos hitec said they'll ship me the missing charger soon

let me know what you think

If it came faulty, there should be no reason why you should have to mess around with it to get it working properly. Personally, I'd send it in for maintenance or replacement. ...Unless someone else might have heard of a quick fix. I don't know enough about the internal servo circuitry to go beyond troubleshooting the little fellas. Sorry.

This one's entertaining...

It may be a little vulgar for some, being somewhat violent in nature. These robots are trained profesionals with medical staff standing by in case of any mis-haps. This should not be tried at home! :D

The robosapien is mighty bottom-heavy... having four D batteries in his feet, makes him quite a bit heavier than the Robonova in comparison.
