Coming soon...
I am in the process of fabricating reciprocating gippers (CLAMPS from futurama). These are made from sheet metal and an HSR-8498 servo.
This means that the front and back plates of the hand move in unison as opposed to the standard form of one static plate and one moving plate.
So far I have made 3 failed sets and am currently tuning the fourth set.
When I have a working product I will post up a visio file of the template so that you can cut out your own clamps at very low cost.
I can cut out and finish a set of grips in about 2 hours from printing out the template. Yeah they use sheet metal that is not too strong but then again I dont not require Takeshi to crush and destroy.
I will give a rough timeline of three weeks from now.
