Does anyone know of some good robot workshops somewhere in the LA area?
I feel that I need a little bit of training before I start working on my RN1 again.
I tried searching myself, but I could not find anything.
Any help would be apritiated.

What do you need to learn about robots, that you can't find out on RoboSavvy?

What I would like to do is make my own program for my Robonova.
But before I do that, I need to learn step by step.
Something like, Then I typed in subroutine because bla bla bla.
Maybe like a tutorial or something.
Ive seen a video, but all he does is show the computer screen and the robot moving.
He never really explained how he went about programing the custom moves.
Either hands on training or a training vid would be great.
I also need to understand the purposes of all the programs of robobasics
and how to use them.
Maybe like a new tutorial section or something.
That would be great.

As a start read through a simple program like this paying paticular attention to Matt's comments, and have the RoboBASIC Command instruction manual to refer to, (Its on the RoboBASIC CDROM)

When it comes to developing new moves, I find the catch and play feature better than roboscript, even for the beginner. Matt can't be wrong:

Do you mean the different individual RoboBASIC routines included with the template program?

I am still really just a newbie myself , sorry I can't create any tutorial videos for you. May be someone more experienced can? But I really doubt you need them, just make a backup of your main template program and don't be affraid to experiment.

Yes, I should read Bauer's note's.
I never though about that.
What I meant about all the programs is not actually other programs, but different tools in Robobasics, like the catch and play tool.
Sorry for any type of confusion.
I'm glad you brought up the catch and play.
As simple as it might be, I don't even know how to use that.
Any help about that would be great as well.
I kinda rushed into the whole robot thing because I love them.
I knew I would run into trouble learning how to use it, but I know that with enough help, I'll be able to do many great things with my Robonova.

I was going to write a basic introduction to Catch and Play based on my own meandering experiences...

But after a bit of searching I found these, class notes for a Humanoid Robots summer school:

Have you looked for a programming / electronics course at your local collage. a 10 week evening course would get you up and running. plus if you take you RN along the lectures would probably love to give you a hand modifying.

It's the reason I went back to Uni so I can use the workshop.
