Ok who else is overwhelmed?

I was glad to see that I am not alone in the "what have I got myself into " category in robot illiteracy! If it wasnt for this list and the robo experts like bauermech and subpilot helping us, I think I would have considered returning my Robonova. After doing his tricks and a few new things I have tried, I was worried about him becoming a 1000 dollar paperweight. I am willing to try and learn because I know half the fun in robotics is doing this sort of thing, just wondering who else besides me and Rep001 is on this new journey? Also if anyone is interested in posting pictures and instructions of "how to's" as they do add ons(they have done this on the Robosapien TK hacks website) some of us would be eternally grateful! Heck I would even pay if its something I want like sonar or gyro etc. Like Bauermech said though, I am hoping there will be simple add ons from Hi-Tech for infants like me.

Hi,
just ordered my nova here in Germany. As old basic user my hope is to easy understand the programming language. What wonders me a little bit is, that there is almost no download available for fancy moves etc. ? Might be that I missed some links into this stuff, but it seems that there is no sharing of such code. Also from a marketing standpoint it would help sales a lot, if there is an active community, sharing program code (like LINUX). So we will see, how this venture will progress.... Any comments, if and where such downloads can be found are appreciated.

We are very glad that Robonova is becoming so popular and our forum is home for the exposure of all the amazing mods that people are up to.

We welcome suggestions on how we can improve the site to make the information more accesible and easier for people to upload information.

As you know, you can upload files to the site (User Info block -> Manage File Uploads) and link to those files on the forum (here). You can even create a full page with the RoboSavvy look (here).

Here are a couple of ideas:

• adding a Robonova sub-tree on the Main-Menu block on the left - pointing to pages containing discussing specific mods and pointers to forum discussions relating to these mods. Sort of similar to Robosapien.tk For example: robonova programs, ultrasonic sensor, I2C, hats etc.
• wiki or other community documenting system ?

please post your ideas on how to make this site more accomodating for Robonova/KHR-1 modders

I think that there's quite a bit of action considering the RoboNova has only been on sale for a couple months. I see new people getting on the forum daily. Give it six more months and I think there will be more info than you could ever want on "how to" mods. I'm sure somebody is going to steal all the great ideas and write a book on it soon.

I agree with subpilot, for a new product I think the amount of mods and information being generated through this forum is amazing. I wish my other robot kits had been this well supported by the user community. I for one believe that the attitude shown here of sharing information is amazing and I just hope some of my input is useful to people, because I know that the thoughts and work of the other people here (subpilot, bauermech et al) has help me enormously, thank you all.

I just hope that this open attitude continues and I for one am open to any way I can help anyone move forward with their own projects.

I'm also a newbie, just got my RN-1, had a few techincal problems, so its back at Hi-tech getting repaired. But other than that I'm hoping to start moding soon.. (e.g. adding the Bluetooth mode, and LCD screen, and maybe the gyro and sonic). It would be nice to see a shopping list for the current mods posted here already. but other than that, I'm glad to be part of somthing new that seems to be growing like wild flowers.

Yep im with you PEV lots of help and interest here i am glad to be involved at bottom level.Lots to learn which is the attraction for me just a shame work takes up so many valuable playing time.Keep up the enthuisiasm and thanks for past and future help and info .
