If I get a Robonova, I was thinking about using an old laptop computer as a controller for it. Would it be possible to use bluetooth to connect them, and, if so, could there be 2 way communication to increase the RN-1's program capabilities and processing power?

Hi,
Bluetooth is definately an option to pass information between a PC and the RN-1 although not for the actual downloading of code. The RN-1 has a serial port on the controller board that a number of threads detail how to connect both the Hitec module and (my personal favorite) the BlueSmirf unit.
I currently have my RN-1 using bluetooth to communicate with a tablet PC program as a replacement for the IR remote and am very pleased with the way it is working.
As always though there is a restriction, the serial port implementation in Robobasic limits the transmittions to a single byte and it can only recieve a single byte per recieve operation. However you could still use some cleaver bit shifting or define your own simple packet protocol to get more inofrmation passing between the two units.
