For a week or two I got hooked up on the internet trying to find my dream robot after my friend in Yokohama sent me some photos of KHR1 kit and the amazing things it can do!
Finaly, I thanked God for the internet when I found a couple of sites linking to Robonova-1! I was dumbfounded after watching the Robonova-1 Dance Team (34MB movie file).

I thought this must be the best form of humanoid on earth at a very reasonable price. But where could I buy one?
I called up Hitec Korea office where to buy this humanoid here in South Korea. At last the search was over! I left my office at Seoul at 1730hrs on a Thursday night (can't wait on weekend) and went to MiniRobot Shop at Bucheon Technopark (1.5hrs by subway). I thought wow, the show room was awesome filled with various types of humanoids I have never before seen nor imagined. Really, it reawakens the child in me
.
Thank you all for putting up this site! It was a big help when I was setting up my own Robonova kit last weekend. I got it working and in very good shape now.
P.S.
Some practical tips for setting-up your Robonova (RN) kit.
1. Read the Instruction Manual well (I can't read my Korean manual and the pdf version is challenging to the eyes). Print them and highlight or color them when your done each step.
2. It is no joke unscrewing 4-6 pcs of 1-inch or so screws of 16 servos. (I watched Smallville episodes while doing it).
3. Putting them back is easier but maybe tough if you don't have a good philip screwdriver.
4. Your best tool will be quality philip screwdriver with good and large rubber grip.
5. Relax. (It is unnecessary to beat the 6 to 8 hours assembly time as advertised.) Otherwise you end up with the whole leg and feet attached to the left hip instead of the right side
6. Double check everything before fastening screws to each body parts.
Take a break or two and have some bread or ice cream ready
7. I guessed I must have missed reading in the Manual - be sure that
MR-C3024 is set during roboBASIC set-up. <at Menu => Set / Controller Type / MR-C3024>. (since I experienced unexpected reboot of my PC when I execute 'Run All')
8. Relax and don't panic if your RN arm (etc.) is not working. Check again the controller at the back if the servo interface wire is plugged properly in the controller board. Your RN will be just fine.
9. Does RN normally falls on its back during testing and downloading of BASIC scripts (with PC connected)? Mine does. If so, watch out to support the back of your RN since it will fall on its back.
10. Take care and enjoy!
