We all love to bolt accessories onto our Robonovas, but most actually are poor value for money.
The major weakness to address is the IR remote control. This is very directional and has poor performance. Bluetooth (Hitec or Bluesmirf) is the usual replacement.
Gyros, accelerometers, sensor, all work, but they add maybe a few percent each to the performance, and increase the programming complexity. Your time and effort + a good communication link make 100% performance increase.
