Human Emulation

Not too long ago, we started a project at RobotServicesGroup.com called Human Emulation where we standardized the testing of robot motions to determine how closely robot motions mimic human motions. Our first subject was a Robonova-1, and now we have run the same tests on an I-Sobot.

Which one do you think will do better?
The $300 I-Sobot or the $1,000 Robonova-1?
The results may surprise you.

You can find all the details at http://www.robotservicesgroup.com/Emulation1.html

Don't forget, you can take either one of these robots for a test drive and check out the walking and turning motions for yourself. Sign up today for your FREE Robot Test Drive at http://www.robotservicesgroup.com/TestDrive.html

This test is not very professionnal ... It is only based on the walking motion and using the basic motion on robonova. If the test is only based on speed and deviation from the center, you should try a continuous walking motion or fast walking for RN1.

Thanks for your comments. The issue you raise is one of the main reasons we have performed the tests in the way that we did. Despite all of the great features of the Robonova-1, it does not come with a continuous walking motion, so it is up to the user to create their own. Creating new motions from scratch can be very difficult, and people who are new to robotics may struggle with this task. We believe that new robot users should be aware of the capabilities of each robot before they buy, which is why we also provide FREE Robot Test Drives.

The point of the RN platform is for the user to program their own moves and the supplied template is for reference only.

There are quite a few user created walking motions that are better then the supplied walks.
