Hi Guys
Mods to enable robonova to be turned into the character puppet displayed on the screen.
Had to be the same dimensions as puppet for live puppet action.
Stance needs setting up and walking next hopefully.
Bit top heavy, but fairly stable 50cm high/ 20 inches

I don't know as yet, I'm hoping to start testing tomorrow.
The initial stance the robo took when first fired up isn't perfect but it still stands under its own steam. You can rock it back and forwards a little and it still stands.
I have taken the rear of the feet plates away as well and discarded the plastic covers.(so I can get the feet inside of the puppet.
I'll report back when tested.
I didn't test it as a standard robo to start with, is it fairly stable as the standard item, feet together standing?

The concept of the Robonova inside of the puppet is to enable realtime filming of the character, to create a childrens TV pilot.
We wanted to avoid stop go animation and create something with a real feel to it.
Created some test shots of the puppets using just hand manipulation but still needed long shots with the bear moving independently or at least with minimal support just out of frame, so even if Robonova is a little unsteady I think it'll work perfectly.
Wanted also to make the ears on the bear flap but maybe on the next character build.
Next we'd like to add play station type control.
Not having worked with robotics previously, I found the Robonova to be really good value and quality... The instruction manual has a few typos probably something lost in translation.
Especially the servo wiring diagram showing the right hand side servos running in reverse order... took a confusing few minutes to sort that one out, but got there in the end.
