Gents, a quick question:

What is the difference between:

- IR SENSOR and SONAR ?
- 2axis accel and TILT sensor ?

Advantages / disadvantages - just wondering as i have em all, and i believe IR + 2AXIS is enough?

well,if u'r about working, than ir sensor based on infrared signals(kind of light) and sonar uses sound wave. Accelerometer could be used to measure ...acceleration, in this case in 2 directions, and tilt sensor actualli showes slope.
That's it if i understand u right.

Sure,
but i use 2axis to get the tilt/pan too.. with no problems.

Maybe there are some dis/advantages between those products?

The advantage is generally Sonar (and ultrasonic) have increased ranges over IR for obstacle detection.

The tilt sensor can determine when a robot has tipped over. This can be as simple as a mercury switch aligned along the axis of the robot. (or mercury-like conductive substance) An accelerometer can have multiple axis, and provide more information in X-Y directions, and even in X-Y-Z directions, depending on the product.
