Hi Guys
Is there anyone in the Harrogate/North Yorkshire region who considers themselves to be a whizz at programming Robanova moves? And might be interested in helping to program our Robanova to walk etc? This is a modified robanova with extended torso, knee extension kits.
Or perhaps offer some advice:
I'm creating a childrens TV character (Robonova inside a bear) you may have seen previous picture posting.
I'm filming, editing... everything...ing and to find the time to improve my programming skills to the level of you guys is not going to happen in the short term.
I need to keep the programming of the robot simple and robust when shooting in the field. So I've chosen to create and store some robobasic programme files, waving, moving head etc, which I can upload and then clear quickly and easily.
I've found Servo Motor real time control easy to use and arm movement, head, standing etc all work fine... but leg movement is the problem area which I need to understand better.
Example: If I'm wanting the robonova to sway its hips side to side. Should I be positioning the servos extreme left position and capturing, and then extreme right and capturing, or, should I also capture a central neutral position? So the servo groups have three reference points?
I've found that the leg moves seem to start and end in the correct position but the momentum in between causes him to leave terra firma! Impressive but not actually what I'm after.
Walking I realise is a difficult one, so the best programming method or tips would be gratefully received. Do I need gyros? I can support the robonova just out of shot if required.
I need to get him walking on grass and a forest floor, is this too much to expect without any support?
Cheers
Darren
