Guys,

I know a lot of people have already worked on CMUcam and vision for robonova. So this mite be nuthing new. But here are some videos from an old project I did as a part of my school curriculum. Please note that further modifications were made to smoothen the walking..but it never really became perfect coz of the weight of the extra additions.

The robot has

1) CMUCam 2+
2) SP03
3) Two Bluetooth Devices - One dedicated to communicate with the computer for voice activated commands. One that can be paired with any other device.

4) An extensive relay circuit used to switch the control of the head servos (pan and tilt) from the camera to the robot, to switch the connection of the second bluetooth from the robot to the camera to receive images in the computer etc. 5V relays were used so that robonova can make the switching by just activating and deactivation the digital signal from any IO port.

5) A visual basic coded speech recognition software based on Microsoft Speech Recognition Engine is used for human commands.

Also note that the wires are all there just for monitoring purpose and for external power during testing. The robot as such is wireless at the moment.

Cool!:D I got CMUcam3, tried color tracking already, but still haven't connected it to my nova, need to make brackets

Oh..cool

I always wanted to buy the CMUcam 3, but I couldnt coz of budget constraints :). Heard it can has many more features. And is also programmable rite? Can you do face recognition or high level geometry recognition using it? The size of the picture is small enough to write your algorithm for image processing if its programmable.

please post videos after you are done with it

yeah, it's programmable,it has bunch of templates with it in package, like color, motion tracking, picture save and so on. 4 servo outputs, TTL, serial output, analog output.Face detection in there aslo, but not compiled. So i got some pictures to teach it. But not yet tested.
