Although I tend to be a huge Google fan, and couldn't survive on the internet without some of their services, the current Google Japanese->English translation tool is extremely poor.

The Babelfish online translation http://babelfish.altavista.com/ is much, much better than Google, though no translation software is even close to "100%" yet.
