The RN-1 turns by placing one foot in front of the other, and brings them back together (kinda' sliding the feet) in order to pivot. Without modifications, the RN-1 doesn't have the independent leg rotation necessary to allow him to turn like a human turns while - say walking.
Making the choice between the RN-1 and Bioloid ultimately depends on what you plan on doing with/learning from it i guess.
