Feel like a noob

Have now got and assembled my RN-1 but have two issues.
1. was a dead servo, No.4 in the arm. It locked up and with power it smokes. have contacted vendor.

2. This is were I feel like a noob. I cannot install Robobasic. :(
I get the following message on trying to install.

"This installation package could not be opened. Verify that the package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows installer package."

I have powered up RN-1 and it assumes the standing pose, all of the other issues during the build were not encountered, just a duff servo and no robobasic.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Marc.

Now I’m certainly no expert on robots or computers unlike the other gurus in this forum.. I had a similar error message when trying to install another app. The solution was updating Windows to the latest Service Packs from Microsoft. It included an updated Windows installer package. Hope that helps.

Ahhh, thank you. This would make sense.
The computer I am using has not been updated for over a year now.
Will give it a try.

Youve got to love windows eh? Another thing you might want to try is downloading Robobasic off the Hitec websites as it may be a new version anyway.

Goodluck!

Did try the download and even tried the other language versions. it is the service pack thing causing me grief.

Anyone know the turnaround time on a duff servo. Will I be waiting weeks for a replacement?

Well I have had particularly bad luck with the servos, and the latest replacements (which I have been waiting for over a month) are still yet to come... A little long even for Hitec. :(
