Mr Sushi's pan and tilt head

Just thought i would share a vid of Mr Sushi with his new pan and tilt head.
I used two micro servos one in his head to look left and right. (bloody tight fit)
mounted a servo horn for his neck and stuck a servo in his chest with a little ball link to make it go up and down.
So he looks quite stock, he also has two gyros under his shoulders as well.

enjoy

Very nice Mr Sushi! Do you plan to add a camera or sensor to your head at some stage so you can see more.

I like the detail of having your name on your chest. Can I ask about the lights just below your name? Do they indicate something?

My Robo would like to pass on a message... 0001001110010011101111

Thanks Ozfid. Mr Sushi is waiting on an order from robot shop which will include IR sensors, grippers, VRbot, touch sensor, tri color LEDs for eyes and accelerometer. that should keep him busy for a while.

This is my first experience with programming so all just one big learning curve for me at the moment.

The light bar on his chest is just a cheap battery volt meter ripped out of its wrapper to look a little techy. When he does his moves the lights all dance around and put on a bit of a show.

Oh good... we seem to be at the same stage. I'm also on the same steep learning curve. I've just recently got a robo and I've been playing with a VRbot and also considering purchasing the hand grippers... so it will be good to exchange ideas. I'll be doing a youtube video soon to show where I've got to with the speech recognition.

Meanwhile, I''ll be looking forward to hearing about your progress!

Cheers,

Alan

Hi Reckless. That's really very good.
I have to admit, this was one of the first things I wanted to do with my Robo, but I really didn't think I would get a servo in the head, so just changed the whole head. Mine just went left and right.
I've played your video, over and over, pausing, and frame by frame, and I just cannot visualise your setup.
I know you have one in the head and one in the chest. The chest one is presumably on it's side to move the head up and down, but how have to fixed the two together?
Maybe my brain is getting addled in my old age, but I just can't see it.

I knew someone would get curious sooner or later.
Unfortunately im at work now for the next two weeks so i cant take any pictures till im back home. Basically its just one servo horn and two saddle clamps and a little ball joint link. I can explain in detail if you like but you might be better off waiting for the pics.

Many thanks for the reply, Reckless.
As they say "a picture speaks a thousand words", and as I can't even visualize it, I'll wait 'til you get home.
Thanks anyway.
