Well, I am surprised to say, it seems they let the site go, or took it down. Sad to see, but there were FILES out there that were useful! I think I have most of them, but it's not cool of them to just blow the site away like that!!!

The Robonova Wiki page here still points to files and such there...

Take Care,

Hi Paul

The http://robonova.de site is still up though.

You can still access the pages to download software and specs for the products.

You have some space here on our server in case you'd like t archive anything here.

There is also a Wiki to which all users can contribute that is located here and that we'll maintain as a reference to all of those to whom we've supplied Robonovas throughout these years.

As a side note, we still have some RN-1 accessories in stock which we'll be puttin on a special promotion.
If you (ir anyone else) is considering getting some extras to pimp up their robots (and their investmenet), we'll be offering a nice opportunity to do so at convinient prices :)

Pedro.

Hey Pedro,

I'll put some files up. There definitely is a decline of inventories across a number of companies. I have only found 1 site that still appears to be in business and sells the colored bracket sets - I ordered 3. :) Also, it seems the HSR-5498SG's are fading away as well (I ordered 22 in all, I figured if I don't, I may not get a chance again in the future!).

Sad to see, but Hitec really didn't do what was needed to keep their robotics line going (product revisions, upgrades, improved technologies, new 'bots, etc). Clearly, their business had problems.

I'll hold on to the few I have for a good long while, but it is sad to see.

There are some opportunities here, though - the brackets are robust, so retrofitting some other servo isn't out of the question...

Take Care,
Paul

Hi Paul

Thank you for your post and availability about uploading files.

As for the robotics section of Hitec, as far as I know, despite Robonova having been the best selling Robot kit ever, its sales performance compared to other Hitec divisions was very poor (let's keep in mind the size of Hitec as a company).

I've also heard rumours that their relationship with the Korean robotics company that developed most of Robonova (MINIROBOT http://www.minirobot.co.kr ) went downhill a few years ago.

As for accessories, MINIROBOT sells modified/improved version of Robonova (which some even considered would be Robonova 2 but it never made it to Hitec).

You'll probably be able to get some new accessories and items from them:
- http://translate.google.com/translate?h ... t.co.kr%2F

- This is the Metal Fighter (once thought to be the future RN-2) http://translate.googleusercontent.com/ ... gOrdKpRs5g

We had conversations with them in early 2010 about this Robot but in the end we chose not stock it because it didn't deliever any significant breakthrough (it was mostly looks). At the time Robonova was still alive and we were concerned this would be perceived just as an RN-1 copy.

In any case, just wanted to leave this reference to you as you may be able to source some compatible parts there.

Regards
Pedro.
