Remote Control Idea

I'm expecting a Rn1 in the mail sometime soon, it will have it ready to compete at the 2007 Robogames. One idea i had for RC is to hook up bluetooth. But instead of using a keyboard to control it you hook up an xbox controller to the USB (or other computer game controllers). I don't know how well this might work, and I hear that the xbox controller is very encrypted, but they do have USB adapters for them.
This is somthing that I really want to try out on my RN-1 when it arrives, but my electronic skills are not as good as my mechanical ones.
Any feedback or help with this would be great.
Thanks!

Bruv, If your gonna go bluetooth then make your own controller or look at Nintendo's Wii controller.
If you are that smart that you bought the RN1 then I expect you should be able to make your own unique controller.

I am going to go the palm route with bluetooth as it has many benefits.

Marcus.

I could make my own controller and that would make it alot easier. I just like having the idea of a perfectly controller that you can wrap your hands around. I got to play around with David Calkin's fleet of RN-1s which used Playstation 2 controllers connected to Xbee transmiters. I really liked using those, but i heard the XBee can be kind of slow.
What also would be nice with having a controller hooked up to a computer, is that you can swap out commands fairly easily (or so i would think).
