I have a MANOI and would be very interested in considering a set of these if you make some more. The style fits exactly what I need. Would like to know the dimensions, as I need a smaller grip than the usual, if possible.

I'm a little confused. Are you talking about aguiloco's finger style, the $9, or the bauer?

Oh, I didn't quote  Sorry, Bauer. The finger style from our crazy friend aquiloco. This is for a photo opportunity (Marketing) and it needs to handle a credit card.

Hi, I restart the project and made another hand with the same design but a little bigger. In that case I choose metraquilete and aluminium to the joints. To open the fingers it uses a spring, and to close it a simple medium servo fom Hitec. Nylon was choosen for the sinews and works good. I was working around 15 hours to complete this prototype, but I really love it...

Hi aguiloco

Excellent job, how much do you intend to sell them for?

Yes Dirty, the spring is to tension the fingers, but is posible to use the same servo, maybe at the next prototype.

About to sell it... is really hard to make only one, I cant do a lot of them! and the price should be really expensive in comparation to Bauer´s grippers.

Humanoido, this hand can fit easy at the RN-1, now I will start to make the bracket to test it at the robot.

beermat: I dont know too many humans with three fingers.......Smile

Three fingers can be very effective.
When Little Johnny appeared on tv, he raised
his three fingered hand as if to say hello, and
the newscaster thought he was flicking off the
audience with the middle finger!

aguiloco, I just saw your new video showing the hand
working on Robonova-1 and have to say this is a great
accomplishment and well done! I'm very impressed!

thanks Humanoido! Now I have to design the final bracket, and maybe a metod to reduce the arm leght with this hand, because I want to add one more DOF at the arms, like this good working prototype:

I use this metal gear GWS small servo because the Hitec´s original is too long, and for that movement really don´t need too much torque. Using this kind of servo the arm stand aligned.

Aguiloco, the prototype shown looks very good.
It's also good you don't need to put another servo in
the arm train or the arms would drag on the floor!

*Deep Bow*

I looks like your hand functions a bit like the hand unit I've been puttering with.

Perhaps we shall meet soon and share a handshake in the interests of furthering more anthropomorphism in the robitics field. (And/Or a throwdown in the wrestling ring...)

I must say that the nylon looks great. You could even put an LED in there for the "magic hands" effect.

Keep it up sir.

Very outstanding work. Can you include the extra brackets and servos for more DOF along with the hand? :-)
