Heya Guys. Hope you all had a nice xmas and got loadsa prezzies.
I guess I have another little prezzie for you all in the form of a RN1 dance video.
At the moment I have about 70% of the routine down and am spending alot of time making minor adjustments to the routine. Most of the tweaks I am doing are time based so the RN1 gives the impression of sync to the track. I would love to make a beat tracker to give tempo information to the RN1 but alas...

I should be ready to film the routine and mix the music by tonight. I have had two test runs on film and all looks good.
The music I will be using is a D&B track that I think is called "You can't shut me down", at least thats what the lyrics are saying.
There is a nice synth filled intro where the RN1 does a nice slow routine that builds into a pumping D&B track where I let Takeshi loose to do his thing.

Just incase I overrun I will have this video up before Saturday but will try for tonight.

hi Dirty, this is a grat idea, since I see the manoi dancing at the demonstration video I wanna make the NR-1 do the same. I begin a dancing routine some days ago, but surelly not more impresive than yours... maybe I will continue it.

Wowser! Due to a heavy night out on the sauce and having to do mutiple recharges of my RN1, the video is a touch delayed.

I am just recharging now before I put the final routine into place. Then I will have to recharge to shoot the video.

I am looking at using an autonomous routine selector for particular places in the music and that is what I will be trying when the batt recharges.
I have a few alternate routines that I want to trigger as fills for the normal routines and I am just building the code to do this. I just need to make sure the alt routine does not trigger twice in a row.

Anyway. Back to the code, or you guys wont have anything to laugh at ;)

Here Y'all go!

I may shoot this again as about 6 sub-routines failed to trigger. You get the idea though.

Great video Marcus! In my opinion that dance is better than the clasica ballet of Robonova, would be great to see five RN-1s dancing at the same time with that routine.

Excellent work Marcus, congratullations!

Very nice, one of the best Dance routines i've seen for Robonova, well done, did you make any modifications to your Robonova or is this a standard build? Thanks Phil.

Bog standard RN1.

I am unhappy with the video as I ended up using a random selection routine to select the moves. As a result I did get a few duplicate moves at the cost of some other moves.

I am now going to reshoot it with a preset selection of routines and delays.

Wow! Marcus, this is one of the best dance routines I've seen so far! Great job and excellent programming. The faster and smoother movements of the arms, body, and legs are some of the most realistic. You must be using some wizardry to get the entire body to sway back and forth, left and right, and around like that, yet maintain balance and stability. Congratulations! I wonder if you're using several gyros or just wizard programming? Thank you for sharing this amazing video.

Gyros not included!

Thanks for all of the praise guys, but all I am doing is exploring the potential of my robot through programming.

One day I hope to work with larger robots and help to accelerate human/robot relations to a point where we can feel comfortable around them, and look to them as another member of the family.

Also, there is a strong link between dance and combat. I hope to enter a Robo-One comp using an unmodified RN1 and stand a good chance of victory. My programming skills should take me part way there.
