Last year, I bought an IMU from Sparkfun to use for a 2-wheeled balancing robot. It can measure up/down, forward/reverse, and rotation around a single axis. Would it be useful for biped purposes, or does the lack of ability to measure side-to-side movement and rotation pretty much render it useless?
