I've made up cables using those parts, without crimping. I coat the end of the terminal with liquid flux, and then (with a pre-tinned wire end) put a drop of solder on the whole thing and solder the wire to the terminal. A little manual crimping of the insulation tabs with a pair of needle nose pliers, and you're ready to go...

That's a picture of a power board I made to test my ATmega128 sensor boards. I'm using ribbon cable for power & ground, since the sensor boards draw very little in the way of current.
I haven't managed to find a decent cable, but I haven't really looked very hard either...
