HELP: CM530 on Bioloid Premium problems.

Hello,

I've build the Type A Bioloid Premium using the CM530 controller, a brand new construction. I have the latest version of RoboPlus and have put the latest version of firmware on the robot. I used Manager to test to make sure all the servos were in the right place and set up correctly. I checked to make sure the the DMS is being seen and that the gyro inputs were "doing things". I have the Type A Task Code and Motion files from

http://support.robotis.com/en/produc...emium_demo.htm

successfully loaded. Battery charged and all.

I have the Zigbee receiver attached and the Zigbee board properly installed into the RM100 and have tested that they are paired and working. If I have the CM530 on with all this stuff powered up and hit a button on the boomarang, I get Rx activity on the CM530.

The first time I tried to use the boomarang after loading the files, changing to "Play" mode and pressing the "start" button I hit button "4" and the Bioloid went into a crouch. Excitement! However, it never responded to another command. I power cycled everything, did the same "Play", "Start" sequence and after some Tx activity the Play LED stayed on and the CM530 starts playing the same three notes over and over again. The CM530 does not respond to any commands.

OK, so after ALL THAT lead in. What am I doing wrong? I can connect to the robot with no problems. I can download files. However, I notice that I cannot get RoboPlus Motion to play any motion files on the Bioloid. It says it is, I see the Rx signal on the CM530, but nothing happens.

I started this project with a Bioloid Comprehensive kit and then got the CM530, battery, and Premium upgrades for it. So I don't have a manual (and can't find one for the Premium, any hints?). I found a CM530 manual, Zigbee manual, and RoboPlus manual on-line, but no help with using all of these things together. So, can anyone shed light on what might be wrong with my setup?

Additional information.
I used RoboPlus Manager to check my servos with the firmware that came in my CM530 when I got it. I then updated the firmware to the latest on the site and then downloaded the task and motion files. They didn't work. So I went back to test the servos, now RoboPlus Manager can't find any servos when it scans. Well, I suppose if the CM530 can't find any servos then the motion files sure won't work. I wonder if the new firmware is talking to the servos on a different baud rate than the old firmware did and that is the source of the problem. More on this as I discover what is going on...

Many thanks,

The real and only one manual is the e-manual you already know, http://support.robotis.com/en/

Check the cables, one broken or disconnected cable cause a lot of strange problems, check that all the AX-12 blink once when power on.

Official check list:
http://www.robotis.com/xe/?mid=SelfChec ... ory=143387

Hope it helps!

That is what I have discovered about a manual. I'd love to get the one that comes with the Premium - My old Comprehensive manuals are not of much use. The diagnostic you sent was for servos, which all work fine. All the LEDs light up and all of the servos are "firm" but pliable in whatever position I leave them. The ones that I tested all worked when connected to the Dynamixel Wizard. The problem appears to be with the CM530, whose diagnostic procedure is here:

http://www.robotis.com/xe/?mid=SelfChec ... =143389#a1

Which tells me "There is a hardware problem. Request technical support. [code : C0005]"

I am wondering if anyone else has had this problem and fixed it, or if I will end up sending my controller back to Korea for repairs, which means I might just as well buy a new one!

When I connect RoboPlus Manager to my CM530 it tells me that it doesn't find any servos and there appears to be LOTS of Tx/Rx activity on the LEDs on the controller. The "Search" appears to find the servo bus. But the "Scan" seems to talk forever and not list the servos. Before I updated the firmware I connected to the CM530 with Manager and exercised each servo individually to make sure that I had them all addressed correctly and in the correct place. With no servos listed, I can't do that now. Also, the "Controller Firmware Management" icon is grayed out, so I can't revert my update either.

This all points to my CM530, owned all of six months and just turned on, is shot. Or, the firmware update was not successful, or something.

So. If anyone else has ever been here and gotten past this point, I'd love to head from you!

Thanks,
DLC
