I am a new hand in AX-12+ actuator!! I bought Some AX-12+ actuators, and i want to control by PC without CM5.So i use Max232 IC and one RS232 pin(DTR) to control TX and RX direction by AX-12 user's manul circuit diagram(half duplex uart) , but i found when i use the initial id 0x01 and initial baud rate 1M try to control AX-12+ actuator, but it didn't have any response, so i write program to search all id and all baudrate to control it(usb to rs232) but the AX-12 also didn't have any response, i don't know why, and what problems i have, i'm sure my Instruction Packet is correct, and the circuit board is ok, because i can control another actuator(AI) by this board.Could some one can help me? thank you!!

I don't know that anyone has successfully done this with a max-232. I've done it with an FT232, which is a completely different chip. What is the behavior of the DTR line on a max232 when you transmit versus not?

I would recommend you look at what Arnaud and BillyZelsnack did, and use exactly the same hardware they used.

I just got this max232 working last Thursday. For the control line, i connected it to the max then connect it to the RTX (DB9 PIN 7) line on serial. I toggle this line in code to transmit and receive. I also lowered the baud rate to 57140. Can the max232 handle 1mbps? I was able to turn led on/off [i only tested that]. I can't get the software to read the receive message property as i don't know rs232. IF any one can help me with this it would be great. I'll try to get the R232 circuit up soon.
Cheers, Boyz

has anyone made progress linking the bioloid bus with MAX323 and if so, at what baud rate ?
