Hi,
According to Robotis, Vista is not supported or tested at this time with Behavior Control and motion-editor..

I know that the Motion Editor and Robot Terminal work on both Vista 32-bit and 64-bit (I have communicated with a CM-2 using both), but Behavior Control Program does not seem to work on 64-bit (but works fine on 32-bit).

The COM port problem occurs when you are not a full admin for your computer (or you have User Acount Protection enabled). To get around this (and find the correct COM ports) you either have to disable UAP or right click on the program and select "run as admin". Note, microsoft does not recommend that you disable UAP - so I do take any responsibility for what happens.

P.S. I think the reason that the Behavior software does not work on 64-bit has to do with an error it has upon starting (it wants to find some sort of *.rbt using Korean letters...). I was able to get it running on a 32-bit system though (and it found COM ports).

I am just waiting for the Farrell Robotics control suite that includes a motion editor and some type of behavioral language that will work on the CM-5 & CM-2 which will of course be Vista friendly

Hi,
Obviously a late reply, but I just figured it out as I had the same problem today. Just right click on the Behaviour program .exe and "run as administrator". That's it! If you're sure that your serial cable is working fine the it should work.
This is a really annoying part of Vista which has caused me problems many times. Generally, if a program in Vista doesn't seem to work right, try this option before choosing compatibility mode (which generally doesn't fix anything!).
