Bioloid With Hip Rotation

I know that with the Manoi you can make a 1 servo hip rotation, but I was wondering if I buy an extra servo can I make a hip rotation for the Bioloid comp with out any costom parts?

The original Bioloid had hip rotation and looking at my kit (the later one with the better servos but no hip) there is still a slot for it.

However I'm not sure I'd want the weight of the CM5, arms and everything else hanging off the bearings on an AX-12...

I have one of the original bioloid kits and built the 19 DOF humanoid. The waist servo was there to allow a more flexible bow but had the load of the whole upper body on it so continually whined. The idea of rotation shouldn't have that issue and should be perfectly possible

Hello,

i have the bioloid kit with 18 DOF and bought 3 extra AX12+ for the hip. The weight is indeed to much for sit ups but he can now move more human like. The hip rotates +/-45° and is stabilized with a u-profil on the backside. I used only parts from the kit and made some modification at the elbow. Now he can reach his noose with his hand (3.pic).

If you replace the elbow bracket and extension you have with something like BrainBot has, you can bend the elbow much further in than 90 degrees.

I didn't tested it before. But he can sit up with the battery pack inside. (with torque limit 1000 and speed 200) I took my newest AX12+ (firmware version 0x18) for the hip witch is the only one without the winning noise.

I was inspired by your fantastic robot before but decided that the forearm should not be bend unnatural behind the elbow.
