An extern bluetooth for CM-5?

Searching about how to easily improve CM-5 communications I have found this serial to bluetooth adapter...

May it works connected to the CM-5 with the serial cable?

Yes... I think that pev bluetooth solution is better but my soldering skills and solder are very, very... rusty

Hi,

I have just done some testing using my BioBlue software and a wired serial connection. The connection was plugged into the programming jack socket and then back to my Samsung Q1. The motion editor was used to test the connection and all was fine.

I then configured BioBlue to use the same com port and tried to send command instructions that would be recieved by the BCP program. Unfortunately I got no response. So it looks like you can't send command packets to a BCP program via the programming jack.

This is not definitive as I do have the bluetooth module connected to the Zig-100 socket so it may be effecting the results but I thought I'd let you know incase you planned to use the serial bluetooth dongle you mentioned via the programming jack.

I think you are correct Pev, the CM5 uses one of its serial ports for the bus and the other is switched between the plug in jack line and the Zig-100 socket. Once a BCP program runs it switches over to Tx/Rx on the Zig-100 port.

You can control this if you are running a C program (I have done it it in test programs to make the PC screen available for displaying info) but I don't think you can from a BCP program.

Yet another reason I have given up on BCP and use C.

I should add and have read PC keyboard input to 'interact' with the C test program.

While you can get output from a BCP program, so it does do some switch back, I do not believe there is any mechanism to get input.

The BCP tool is very useful as learning tool, but it I don't like as programming tool, so it's no problem for me

Dewey, please, could you share the c program that switched between the plug in jack line and the Zig-100 socket?

I am trying to program bioloid with c++. At least with plain c to the cm-5 and externally with c++, java or other high level oo language.

Haven't seen an asnwer to this.
I thought the difference between Zigbee-serial and PC-serial connections on the CM5 are only in the voltage levels (PC serial needs a TTL level shifter and Zigbee needs lower voltage). Both are linked to TX1/RX1 simultanously and I don't recall there being a programatic switch selector.
