ok heres whats happening,I had probs with the zig 100 so I desoldered it and removed it, and now have the same problems I was having with it in. I have reset the cm-5,tried plugging the dynamixel in to different ports,I am currently jus using one to try and figure this out, even updated the ax-12 firmware.

heres whats happening in robot terminal. I open terminal the cm-5 is in manage mode blinking,so I hit start then this comes up

[CM-5 Version 1.15]
<->PC:57142 BPS, <->Dynamixel : 1000000 BPS
ID:
000(0X00) Dynamixels found.
[CID :001(0X01)]

so if I read this right it finds the dynamixel but it doesnt?
by inputing a comand to the servo I can make it move, example
go 180 80
the servo will move.
scan comand turns up same answer. what I am I doing wrong?

forgot the 8100 part in the behavior program it gives me error 8100,I have changed cables, servos, and ports on the cm-5.

but heres the funny thing if I go to the examples programs and select the endless rotation program and download the hit play it will start the servo turning and at the same time give me a endless list of error 8100 :?

Hi Trey, sorry to hear you're having so much problem with the zigbee.

How many servos are hooked up to the CM-5's bus (or daisy chained)?

If it's only one, you might want to check the servo's settings.

Code: Select all
000(0X00) Dynamixels found

is a clue. Even though the CID 0x01 is showing up, this line is indicating that it's not seeing any servos on the bus. Perhaps you just need to reset each ID of each servo (CAUTION: do this with ONE servo at a time or you'll end up with two or more servos with the same ID).

try typing "dump" for example:

Code: Select all
[CID :001(0X01)] dump

I am also on the path of understanding more about manipulating the Bioloid system with the robot terminal. Refer to page 105 of the "User's Guide" for more information on setting the servo settings. Good luck!

thanks tom,I have been keeping up with your posts to,you have the upper hand on exp for sure though.
I have tried the dump command it comes back no date found, also tried the reset command and still didn't get a response. I have only one dyna attached and I can even change the id of it,but it still wont find it,some frustration is getting to me now,but I will take my time and figure it out this is supposedly to be a learning exp after all

I am of the opin something has happened inside the cm-5 as it is doing this with all dynamixels. so somewhere in the software in there lies the problem. unless something happened when I added the zig 100,it was in the humanoid version at the time so it could have changed something on all the servos. I did try allot different things with it in that configuration.
