Anyone has been able to get a fast connection with linux and usb2dynamixel?

With the same c program, querying the position of 16 dynamixel, I get:

around 63 ms using rs232
around 242 ms using usb2dynamixel

Tested with Ubuntu 7.10 and Mandriva

With windows xp it takes around 18 ms using usb2dynamixel...

Thanks!

check out the threads related to gumstix and Jon Hylands USB board
There was a discussion about latency and tweaking of the FTDI driver and what not.

Thanks, Limor. This thread about ftdi latency is very interesting.

I read it, but since I did not have problems while using usb2dynamixel in windows I "forgot" this thread :)
