Problems with flashing the cm5

Hello,

I want to load another program on the cm5. For that purpose I used the Update-function of the BehaviourControl Programmer of Robotis.

Unfortunately I always end up getting an ErrorMessage.

"You failed cm5-update!
You need to install cm5-program refering to bioloid-user guide."

Then I need to recover it using the bootloader. I tested it with several programs.

Is there another way of getting my own program on the cm5?

best regards,
Alex

It is highly unlikely that your bootloader is damaged. Have you tried the robot-terminal interface ? it is well documented in the manual.

That works well indeed, even if you get this error message.

Update utility makes some checks, dealing with the cm5 firmware, nothing else. (but try with an original one... to check if bootloader is not dammaged)

Wait a minute. You're trying to upload a program (.bpg file) via update, as in BehaviorControlProgrammer > Management > Update CM-5? That's not going to work.

Hi AlphA,

no with PROGRAM, i meen a compiled program for the ATMega128 (hex-file).
I now used the Robot-Terminal to upload the program.
It works well, like it did before. It turned out that the only problem was that the the program I loaded did not light up the leds so all the time it was working correct but I didn't notice :-(

Sorry, I bothered you with that.
