I managed to successful connect a CMUCAM3 to robonova and send signals in both directions using TTL. Now I would like to do the same with my bioloid robot (after I have assembled the humanoid!), however this time through RS232 connection. Since this is the first time ever in my life that I am going to use a stereo Jack to connect rs232, I would like your opinion on the diagram below for the connection:

Is it correct? Also, can I still communicate with Zigbee with another bioloid robot while the camera is connected. OR is there a better way of connecting the camera to bioloid?

Thanks I appreciate a lot your help.

Hi, In your diagram the "Tip" is TXD from the CM5 ie an output from the CM5.
The "Ring" is RXD from the CM5 ie an input to the CM5. Sleeve is ground.
See CM5 circuit I posted earlier.

So, if I understood the diagram well the Sleeve should be gound but I have to swap TX and RX, i.e. Tip = TX from CMUCAM and RING = RX from CMUCAM. Is this ok?

Thanks again for your help.

I once had a diagram showing the difference between the stereo jack connection in the bioloid vs. the RN1..
couldnt find it but here is the Bioloid setup taken from the in-depth Bioloid analysis by Pedro Teodoro of IST university:
