Just ran across this and hadn't seen it mentioned here before. It was developed by CarnegieMellon and appears to support control of the AX-12+ servos.

Looks like a nice bit of software - vision system, kinimatics, C++, etc.

"Dynamixel servos / Bioloid kits
(beta support available) TTL or RS-485 Actuators with status feedback Features bus-based control to support daisy-chaining, and provides a variety of feedback, such as position, load, temperature, etc. (Also available in kits)"

This seems like some pretty impressive software... a bit over my head.
