The new CM-510 is a atmega256 I believe. It holds twice as many motion pages as the old cm-5.

there are 2 types of ir sensors the one in the chest and the small ones in the legs/arms which i assume are similar to the ones used with AX-S1. no further info yet.
2. Do you know which are finally the AX-S20 sensor components? Magnetics or gyros?

no. seems like the magnetic sonsor is replaced due to technical issues
3. Could the connection for the IR Receiver/Zigbee receiver be used as a communication line? CM-510<->Arduino, for example.

the comms is done via Ir or Zigbee utilizing the 2nd UART on the atmega128 of the controler. if you want to put arduino connected to that serial, you can do it. there's a new miniature linux board we are about to stock that makes it easy to attach any PC USB deviceto the robot including wifi and webcam.

Latest from Robotis is that the new boxes may not be shipped out in time to guarantee that they sit all wrapped up nicely under the Christmas tree. But if you are ok to receive it somewhere between the 20th and 27th of Dec then you will enjoy the kit during the end-of-year holiday. we will receive the shipment on the "second half" of December.

Thank you very much for the info, Limor :)

premium kit and upgrade kit will be arrive this month, so don't hurry for buying usb2dxl. it has cm-510 actually but not sure about usb2dxl. I think it's better if you wait until upgrade kit released, then if it doesn't have usb2dxl, buy it separately.

We were informed today that Robotis will be sending us a shipment of premium and upgrade kits in time for us to guarantee pre-Christmas delivery.

The moment they give us the final pricing we will make the kits available for pre-order.

From conversations I had with Robotis few months ago about the upgrade kit, I recall they said something about pricing it at under half the cost of a Comprehensive kit.

I can try and guess the pricing of the Premium kit. Looking at robotis.com Korean web shop, the Premium kit is already for sale. In fact the first few hundred Premiums have begun selling in Korea recently. The Premium kit price is 990000 compared to 770000 for the Comprehensive. ie: 28.5% more expensive. Our Bioloid Comprehensive kit price is 646.3GBP (inc. VAT) so Premium kit might be around 830GBP (inc. VAT)

The number of in-time-for-Christmas kits will be limited. If you are interested in reserving a Premium or Upgrade kits for Christmas, please send an email to sales@robosavvy.com.

There's gonna be a lot of torque applied to those poor little ankle servos.

Think they can handle it ?
