Hey all,

Well, after building the humanoid as like the 4th robot from the comprehensive kit, i decided 'it is time', to customize it.
I will keep updating this post with new info and media, please feel free to post any likes/dislikes/ideas/constructive comments or whatever else you want to share, if you cant see/open the pictures (wich happens at times due to imageshack) you can also find them all (heck, more) in my trossen robotics gallery

ORIGINAL POST
So a while back i ordered 2 wireless cams, sanded a hole in the chest (didn't have a hole drill) and made a nice pan/tilt head.
Now im working on the arms, i just decided i should add another servo to the upper arm so it can actually move almost-alike a human arm.

My goal is a humanoid that can manipulate objects (pick up can and pour from it, as far fetched example) using its stereo-vision to detect objects/distances

However, the arms are turning out to be quite heavy, and fitting the 3rd chest servo made it no longer fit its battery, so i would like some advice on a different battery, i've read from quite a bunch of people that they use a diff battery, but never found any usefull info about replacement batt or how to attach it to the cm5/charge it.

Some pics of it in current state, remember i will add another servo to the arms, and soon (once my ordered servos arive) ill be constructing the legs. Its currentlly 12 dof, will add 2 more dof to the arms, making the torso/head 14 dof, leaving me with 7 dof per leg (ordered 10 additional servos, 28 is the limit)

If any1 can share their experience with replacing battery that be great.

UPDATE 1
After a little rethinking, made one of the arms with a additional servo, imo its totally badass, if the servos can take it ill definatlly keep this new arm (on the right on the pics below, its left arm):

UPDATE 2
Made the other arm like the new one, 14 dof and counting 8)
Tested it with the standard battery and default motion software, it raises and rotates its arms great, but it will need more power, it dies in a few seconds when i dont have the power plugged in hehe.

Quicky phone video on Youtube and picture below:

UPDATE 3
Trossen has started to 'pre-sell' the arbotix boards :D
I've just ordered mine, will be using it for this humanoid, should be receiving it next week/the one after, servos should be due to delivery soon too, then i can really kick off the jams

UPDATE 4
Found me a nice battery, ordered 2 plus a charger

Image
Specifications for Thunder Power RC TP-2250-3SP30 LiPo:

    * Voltage: 11.1V
    * Cells: 3-Cell
    * Capacity: 2250mAh
    * Max Continuous Discharge: 30C
    * Max Burst Discharge: 60C
    * Max Continuous Current: 68A
    * Max Burst Current: 135A
    * Weight: 180g
    * Dimensions: 25 x 34 x 104mm

UPDATE 5
Arbotix (starter kit) recieved! didnt recieve the above battery/charger yet, so i will prolly have to wait till the weekend or some before having all parts (so also power and servos) to continue building/start coding

Heys Khashi.E,
Well thats odd, but okay ill change them, tho the 'File Manager' on robosavvy doesnt seem to be working, or at least keeps trowing errors at me. (io error, timeout limit reached etc)

On-topic; Trossen has started to pre-sell the arbotix boards :D
I've just ordered mine for use in this project, for any1 interested to get one, do it fast, if u wanna see how well it works for others before getting one yourself; keep an eye on this thread.

Will fix pics now, give me a few mins

EDIT: Uploaded them over at trossen, but dont wanna whore their bandwitdh by using them here, so just check out my trossen gallery if the pics in the first post dont show, they do show fine for me btw (silly imageshack is silly)
