Help on RoboPlus

Hi all,
I am trying the new Roboplus language with my Bioloid Comprehensive Kit based on CM-5 processor.
I have installed the last version of Roboplus SW, and also I have upgraded the CM-5 in order to be recognized by Roboplus.
All is going OK, so I started with a simple program example: Obstacle detection car, I guess many of you knows perfectly.
After I build the car, I have dowloaded to the demo program (from Robotis support site), the program runs Ok on the CM-5 but...the motors of the AX-12 doesn't run.
As far I understand, the sentence

ID [1]: Moving speed=CCW:500

will move the motor in one direction, while the sentence CW: 500 will move it on the other direction.

But the fact is the car doesn't move, even I am sure the program is actually running the Funtions involved, because I included some "debug" printing instructions and the Function is really executed.

Any suggestions? Is something missing on the demo program from Robotis?

Any help could be appreciated, thanks a lot

Hello,
i didn't use endless turn for now but i think you need to use roboplus manager first.
Once connected to your CM5, go to each actuator you want to drive using endless turn.
I don't remember exactly where it is, but you can declare if you want to use your dynamixel as an endless turn device or not in one of the line of parameter.
Select each line and explore the menu on the right, you will find it for shure.
I think you can also do the declaration in your code once you have the right address value.

The fact is that is not my code...is the code from Robotis, so I guess this code has included the all sentences to work without any further action...finally is a demo code.
But aparently is not like that and the code is not running the motors. From Motion program the actuators runs Ok, the problem is on the Task Manager using the Obstacle Detection Car demo.

Ok, i'm at home now.
check this for each ID the code is trying to command :



if the actuator is set to 'joint', set it to 'wheel' then click 'APPLY'
It should work.

Are you trying the new Roboplus language as well?

Or only using the tools (Manager, Motion, Dynamixel, Terminal)?

Actually, i'm a beginner in robotics.
i bought my first robot at the beginning of february.
It's a Bioloid Premium so, Roboplus is for the moment the only way i know to program easily and quickly the robot, but i'm learning C++ and hope i will soon be able to program the bioloid this way.

I have a Comprehensive Kit which I am actually upgrading to Premium.
Even I was in robotics for a few years, I feel I am an eternal begginer on this area...
Regarding this particular issue, I remeber that in Behaviour Control Programmer(the old language for Bioloid) it was a sentence to setup the actuators in wheel or servo mode, I will search and share with you.
I hope you will stay on Roboplus for a while, so we can share progress and problems in the next future. And excuse moi, je ne parle pas le francais, ma langue maternelle est l'espagnol...so I prefer to speak in english for now.

Just today I have received the Upgrade Kit which will migrate my Comprehensive to Premium Kit.

I have a lot of doubts, some Software related and some others regarding the phisical building of the demo models described, which I have builded using the old CM-5 but not this new one. Even the plastic pieces are the same, the new Microprocessor and the LiPo battery are quite diferent from the old model and I can't figure out how to place together in one block.

Do you know where I can get a PDF version of a Premium manual in order to guide me. The PDF help files I have found on Robotis site are very general, but not describe the actual building process of the differents models.

unfortunatly, i don't know where you can get a pdf version of the premium doc.
You may ask PedroR about it.
he seems to have good relationship with Robotis and they may satisfy your query...

Pero solo se trata de las 3 declinaciones del bipede en la documentacion.
para la piernas y los brazos, me parece ser lo mismo, solo el cuerpo es differente.
entiendo muy bien el espanol pero hace muy largo que no lo hablo.

I'd think you should have received a build manual for the three humanoid robots with the Premium Upgrade Kit. If you didn't, perhaps let ROBOTIS know and I'm sure they will provide you with one.

I understand that ROBOTIS is working on a number of other robot configurations for the Premium Kit but am unsure of how they will distribute the build information once it's ready.
