the big advantage of the bioloid design is that you have a spherical link between the leg and the foot and between the leg and the torso.
So when you have a rotation of one of the leg actuator (but the knee), the movement never drive any unwanted linear displacement.
Maybe, this design is not the one you like but i wouldn't say it's wrong :)
the only negative point is the size of the spherical link that is quite huge because of the actuator size.
