While I was browsing on the internet for material to work with the construction of another bioloid humanoid torso, I came across this http://www.active-robots.com/products/accessories/construction-materials.shtml

Do you think that these sheets are strong enough to hold a bioloid humanoid torso? has anyone had some experience with these as construction for the robot?

Right now I am using aluminum 1mm thick, the last time I've used it it worked really well, but to work it out without CNC or laser cutting is really a tough job.

I did try it, but was a bit disapointed at the amount of bracing and box structure required to achieve a rigid assembly.

Had most success with carbon fibre plate and especially carbon fibre angle for torso designs. Not nice stuff to work with though, and you still have to build the structure to allow for the strengths and weakness of the material
