Right turning problem continues

Have you solved your right turning problem. I have exactly the same issues with my new premium setup. It is unstable, turns right and falls down readily when walking forward. I have checked an rechecked the assembly and even tinkered a bit with the offsets, but no luck. I have checked the center position of every servo...I don't know what to try next.

I have a feeling that I will need to adjust the offsets but that seems like quite a challenge considering I don't know which servos to focus on.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Scott

Hi Scott

These symptoms always boil down to a mistake in assembly.

I would NOT recommend tinkering with the offsets at this point (as the kit is brand new).

My best bet is that the Hip arrangement is not correctly assembled.
One of the frames in the hip needs to be assembled with the servo already offset 45º.

Another key area to investigate is to make sure the Gyro is connected correctly: the Gyro has 2 channels (let's call them A and B) and they need to be connected to specific ports on the controller; if you swap the connections the Robot will also fall while walking as the code to stabilize the walk is getting the wrong readings.

This is not always clear in the instructions but I would sincerely recommend you pay close attention to the assembly instructions for this area.

Another thing to try is assembling as Type B or Type C (which have simpler hips), load the corresponding the Motion Files (motions for Type A are different than motions for Type B and for Type C; they can all be downloaded from the Robotis website) and investigate the results.

Regards
Pedro.
