Hi all
I have problem with one of my AX-12+ servos. I tried to reset it , but it starts to blink as when as I connect it to CM-510, and the roboplus manager software can`t even find it via search.
I dont know what is the problem, we opened the servo and applied a voltage directly, and the servo worked.

Hi

Try using the Dynamixel Wizard to Diagnose the servo.

You need to use a USB2Dynamixel and open Roboplus, on the main window, choose the "Expert" tab (at the top). there you'lll find the Dynamixel manager.

Follow the instructions on screen and please report back the results.

Regards
Pedro

Hi Pedro
I tried your instruction, but it was unsuccessful too.
In detail, I opened Roboplus/Expert/Dynamixel Wizard , and tried search options there (basic, advanced, all search & custom); but no one found my dynamixel.
I tried update firmware option too, but it could not found the dynamixel, and I had no choice but stopping the search.
I tried Roboplus/Expert/Roboplus Manager, and ... nothing!
I had already tried Roboplus/Bioloid/Roboplus Manager/Dynamixel Search.

The dynamixel is still blinking! and isn`t reachable at all.
Is it possible to program the micro-controller of dynamixel?

Hi excalibur

Yes it should be possible to reset/reprogram it; at least re installing the firmware.

I am not familiar with reinstalling firmware on AX-12s but installing the firmware is something that depends on the Bootloader and is completely independent of how messed up server settings may be.

So if the RED led blinks it means the logic boars is still working, so I would expect re installing the firmware should be possible.

In addition, please find the Self Check instructions from Robotis to try and diagnose the cause of your issue:
http://www.robotis.com/xe/SelfChecklist_en

If still you can't solve your issue, you can contact the place of purchase and request RMA/repair. If you do so, you should send the results of the Robotis self check above.

Best Regards
pedro

ThanQ so much Pedro for your guides and instructions. They were so helpful.
I`ll search to find a way to reprogram the micro, and if succeed, I`ll report it.
According to instruction given in Robotis site, I think it needs repair; and hope that finding somewhere or somebody to repair it wouldn`t be difficult for me.

Thank You
