Bioloid Comprehensive - a few questions

Hi all! I have a few questions about the Comprehensive kit and wonder if anyone out there can advise.

1. The RoboSavvy Comprehensive to Premium upgrade kits seem to be missing parts F53 and F55 that are shown on the parts lists for the Premium kit but are not on the parts list for the Comprehensive kit. Any idea why and where these can be obtained?

2. Can the GS-12 gyro be used with the Comprehensive kit or is the CM-510 required.

3. Can the scorpion only be built using the Premium kit? If so then what are the parts that enable this to be built?

4. If the upgrade kit is purchased is there any difference to the final kit than if I had purchased the Premium kit?

5. Is it possible to buy more of the BU parts?

Thanks in advance!

Welcome, DM69!

Well, first the answer to the non asked question:

If you have the money for Comprehensive but Premium is more interesting for you... go for Premium,it worths the extra money, and at the end it will be cheaper than start buying the Comprehensive box.

IMHO Comprehensive would be better if, for example, you only want 18 AX-12+ and you want to use other controller.

Now your questions:

1.- If you search for something like "robotis bioloid f 53" you will get several interesting results like this :)

2.- You need CM-510. CM-5 doesn't have any port to connect sensors.

3.- There are several different parts, so you will need to create your own replica.

4.- No difference if you buy all that missing parts

5.- See answer 1

Hope it helps :)

Thanks for the answers.

I noticed that I wrote my third question incorrectly... I meant to ask if the scorpion can be constructed using the Comprehensive kit. I actually have the comprehensive kit already (Christmas gift for my son). I was wondering about the upgrade as the gyro use seems interesting. Your answer to my second question didn't really answer it though.

Does anyone know if you could use the gyro with the CM-5 or is the CM-510 required to make this work with a humanoid build?

The parts that are 'missing' from the upgrade kit - are they required to construct certain robots?

I edited my previous answer.

You could check the manuals to find is there is some part not included in Comprehensive. But, at least, you will need to adapt the design, because the main part it's very different.

This is the new one:

There are some parts not included that are necessary. The Comprehensive to Premium value upgrade kit is good... value... and includes a part not listed on the Robotis site that is required. Parts that are missing appear to be:

F53, F55, IR Sensor and Cable (2), SP1 (16), S11 (40), S12 (10), S13 (10), S14 (5), S15 (5), Cable 10 (5), Pin and Pin-Hole (14), Single Bracket (2), Plate 3x7 (1), Cable DMS (3), 5P Cable 15 (2), 5P Cable 40 (2)

Assuming that the IR sensor is the OLLO one on the Robotis site and Cable 10 is the 3P then the only parts that seem unavailable are:

SP1, S11-S15, Pin and Pin-Hole, Cable DMS, Single Bracket and Plate 3x7

Is there anywhere that can supply those parts?

If not then what are they used for (what would you not be able to make without them)?

How do you replace these parts if you have the Premium kit and then break or lose parts?

Does anyone know where I can get spare BU parts other than to buy the complete spares set BNS-10?

Should I be directing this to sales or do RoboSavvy sales read these forums?

I think you will find the Robosavvy Comprehensive to Premium Upgrade kit is a good hearted attempt by Robosavvy to provide a Premium Humanoid upgrade from Comprehensive at minimum cost. This avoids buying a complete new premium kit for many loyal Bioloid users. If you want a complete premium kit, that is what you need to buy and sell your comprehensive. It depends on what you consider are "necessary" parts.

If something is missing consider inventing your own alternative.

Premium users with broken or missing parts should contact Robosavvy or Robotis for replacement.

As previously stated, the CM5 does not have ports to interface external sensors (gyro, Ollo), only the CM-510 has ports for these.

I have popped an enquiry over to them, but I would have thought that if a part was available for sale then it would be listed on the Robotis shop. If buying a Premium kit then I would still be concerned that it might not be possible to replace parts that become lost or broken.

You can buy all the parts, at least, from Robotis shop; but you should search them, it's not very user-friendly

I think this list with all the parts to upgrade a Bioloid comprehensive to the Premium is the list you were looking for.

It's in the Korean part of their website, but the code parts are in latin alphabet. For the rest of the text you can use, for example, Chrome and its automatic translation.

Thanks. I had located those but there are items in the parts list for Premium that do not appear on their site, such as S11-S15, SP1, Single Bracket, Plate 3x7, etc.
