Well, respect the price difference, you should keep in mind that:
- Bioloid includes 2 additional servos (about 35£ each AX-12)
- 12 of the 16 Robobuilder servos are Torque: 8 kgf.cm, versus AX-12 15kgf.cm (The other 4 Robobuilder are 11 kgf.cm)
The community around Bioloid is larger than Robobuilder. You can see it, for example, in their Robosavvy's subforums.
I use Bioloid since august 2007. I bought Comprehensive, the Premium upgrade when it appeared and several spare parts (Zigbee, frames,...).
My main criticism is that that they don't open source their firmware and don't offer any way to execute motions from code except using their RoboPlus Tasks, but it is too much limited for medium or advanced programming.
Robotis have been improving their software and hardware over the years, so I will choose Bioloid.
Robobuilder have some interesting features like PID and open source firmware (this one is very interesting to me), but I haven't ever could play with them, so I haven't an opinion about it.
Hope it helps
