Home built wirless IP Executor Video package uploaded to

http://www.smallfishdev.com/SmallFishDev/Solutions/bin/SFIPExe-2008-05-04.zip
http://sourceforge.net/projects/dm-qcif-codc/

The video package include the first person view from executor and third person view from camera.

executor's Video/audio/control are all accessed from IP address. Can be directly accessed from internet.

First person view video quality is bad, I am trying to find a better quality, small size and light mini camera to replace the current one.

Modified structure, the latest structure as image.
Changed cmos camera to ccd camera.
Fix some bug with exe's on board code and pc side controlling code.
Move much smooth than earlier structure.
Later will take some video clip.

Take a few hours, re made the executor. Move all the batteries to body, and make camera to highest position. And change foot length and structure.

Still wooden.

Have not take video yet.

Plan to add arm with wire connection point.

took a video slip on pc controlling side.

First person view uploaded. Control side application video slip uploaded.

Exe movement is defined in one .ini file, to control it, just load the ini file. To send audio, also load the audio files.

the exe video quality, image size, frame rate .. etc .. are all online control and run-time change.

Very original!

I don't recall seeing this use of servo configuration as a form of locomotion before

(with all the lasers, wires and that battery matrix, i sure wouldn't like to meet the executor late at night in the office building)

:)

You could modify the foot design, replacing the two servo "toes" with a single servo the rocks the entire foot, and produce the same walking motion.

Thanks DocVanThorp's advice and limor's comments.

Currently, I am trying to make out a metal frame with the same structure. Also thinking about a better structure.

This one is that I can think out the most fast and easist way to build and take movement.

I am very happy if anybody can give some advice or help me to build a better structure.

Instead of using servos to walk you could use standard hobby radio control model electronic speed controllers (ESC) driven straight from your servo outputs. That way you could fit it with wheels. If you were to fit it with three or four pairs of wheels and steer them (think of the nose of a jet aircraft) you could travel and steer in any direction.
