I could use some help picking out batteries to power these servos, and the method to do so.

The servos are rated for 6V-7.3V and have a stall current of 4200 - 5200mA

Those servo can draw approximately, 2A each under normal conditions. Look for a LiPo pack. Here's a two cell that should work. http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wt ... XXLJ2&P=ML

How would I go about using a pack like that? If I ran it straight to the servos would the 8.4V max charge damage them? I know its possible to send extra voltage to servos and have them be fine but I also know its possible that they could be in a bad mood and die after 2 seconds of out of spec voltages. I wanna be very careful not to damage the $125 servos. If I made a regulator setup I would need like what 10 or more 7.4v regulators? and then they would be sucking energy out of the battery to make fancy heaters of themselves?

Maybe you could use some BEC's if you're fine with 6V? You could probably get away with at least 3 servos per BEC in normal situations and you could fuse them for the non-normal.

The servo rating takes a two cell LiPo into account. So when it says, 6V, it is assumed that a 5 cell NiMH battery is being used. For the 7.4V rating, it's assumed that a two cell LiPo pack is used. You'll get a voltage drop when you start using the servos, so the peak voltage isn't an issue.

so i can run it direct drive from the battery with no real increase in possibility of damage to the servo?! if that is true i'll be very happy hehe that being said, if there's any remote horrible possibility that i could blow the servos and there's a more appropriate method i would rather do that, unless it adds tons of unwanted weight...
