hmm,
I once had think about this question,
well, RB2000 is quit popular in Japan but not in europe and america
I personally feel that europe people like robot in a way of a more solid feel, .... I mean robot like Robonova ...
may be RB1000 and 2000 has too many holes in his leg and arm.
I don't like this too and I don't like all the wires going around the body!!
but the fact that the market only have limited robot to achieve my goal above. one of the example is Kyocho PF01. (but too limited freedom of motion)
Why they do not make full skin robot? I think manufacturing cost may be a main reason. It is hard to give robot performance when they are dressed is another reason.
VStone (Designer of OmniZero, RB1000 & RB2000 ...etc ) have designed a number of good robots, but they only release the RB series.
( Recently release their super robot "VisiON4G" )
http://www.vstone.co.jp/top/products/ro ... index.html
but in a price of an expensive car
Personally, I think RB2000 has the best walking performance and extensibility.
They are also born with PS2 that take the advantage of the mechanical fittness as well as good use of the internal parameter of the microcontroller.
Secondly, The software is the most user-friendly when compared to user interface of my other robots: such as KHR2HV, RN as well as RBT1
You may said that he RB2000 do not have learning function (capture function in RBT-1) , yes, a bit less convinence.
but when you are more professional in playing robot, you will found this is not so important.
Finally, the servo RBS581 is the fastest servo (geneally amount normal price servos in market) at reasonable price. but the disadvantage of it is very easy to heat up and burn. This is solved by RBS5802 servo.
In fact, in the long run, I expected RB2000 still, will not get so popular unless VStone extents its market and manage to make its own band of robot servo, (instead of co-operation with JR)
I think VStone must develope good servo as good as Kondo in order to get his robot significant in the robot market.
